Have you ever wished to create art using words? Weird Type is an augmented reality (AR) application that offers the unique ability to paint with text in a three-dimensional space!

With this app, you can input your own phrases and choose from a variety of modes to witness your text presented in an entirely innovative manner. Additionally, you have the option to record videos of your messages, allowing you to share or save them directly to your camera roll.

Weird Type is a result of the AR experiments conducted by Zach Lieberman and Molmol Kuo, which have gained significant attention on Instagram over recent months. The intriguing question, "is that an app?" came up repeatedly from followers. In collaboration with Design Indaba, responsible for its production, we are delighted to present these experiments in the form of this app for your enjoyment.

The app's design has been meticulously crafted by Richard The, with invaluable iOS assistance provided by Ying Quan Tan, Robby Kraft, and Peter Sibley.

Please note that the app has now been updated to support multi-lingual input.
